SOS Protein Solubility Optimization

Genlantis presents it's new Solubility Optimization Service (SOS). Developed by our experts, the SOS protein service provides customers with the opportunity to submit insoluble clones with zero upfront fees for evaluation and solublity treatment optimization. Submitted clones are put through 24 different optimization conditions in order to find the optimum soluble expression condition with our system.

How the Solubility Optimization Service (SOS) Works

1. Investigators complete the SOS Clone Submission Form (PDF file at www.genlantis.com/Custom-Service/SOS), and fax or email the form to Genlantis. Genes submitted for expression MUST be cloned in a plasmid under the control of a T7 polymerase or Arabinose-based promoter, and containing a His tag for the purpose of purification.  *Five different clones need to be submitted to qualify for the free screening service, and the minimum amount of plasmid required is 10 ng each at no less than 1 ng/ul. Also, clones must express at least 100 ug/L of the target protein.

2. Together with the SOS clone submission form, investigators submit an institutional purchase order for the Solubility Optimization Service, indicating the designation of each clone to be submitted, quantity and price as indicated below or quoted by Genlantis. An SOS Project Manager will then contact the investigator with an order reference number and shipping instructions for sending clones to Genlantis.

3. Investigators should have backup material of submitted clones under any of the formats mentioned above. Investigators agree NOT to hold Genlantis liable for any lost or destroyed clones under any condition or circumstance.

4. Genlantis will transform all submitted plasmids into a variety of BL21(DE3) bacterial strains, including the latest SoluBL21 variant. Several positive colonies will be screened using approximately 24 different conditions that involve various solubility enhancement reagents and growth conditions.

5. Genlantis will submit to the customer an SOS Screening Report with colloidal blue-stained SDS-PAGE gel showing solubility enhancements.

6. For each clone that was produced successfully in a soluble format, Genlantis will produce the quantity of protein indicated on the Purchase Order. An anticipated date for shipment of the solubilized protein from each clone will be provided to the investigator.

7. Genlantis will ship the proteins only from the clones that were produced successfully in a soluble format and send the invoice.
