PrimaPure Porcine Endothelial Cells are available from aorta, coronary and pulmonary arteries. All endothelial cells are characterized positive for uptake of acetylated low-density lipoprotein (LDL).They are cryopreserved at first passage (PCAEC at second passage) and can be cultured and propagated at least 16 population doublings (PCAEC at least 12 populations doublings).
Porcine endothelial cells are an economical alternative suitable for the studies of endothelial function and endothelial metabolism, especially in co-culture of species-matched porcine arterial smooth muscle cells. These cells play critical roles in cardiac homeostasis. Changes in structure and function of endothelial cells have been linked to vascular diseases such as thrombosis, atherosclerosis, and hypertension.

* Each Complete System contains
an ampoule of cryopreserved cells (> 500,000 cells), 500 ml growth
medium, and a Subculture Reagent Kit (including 100 ml each of HEPES Buffered
Saline Solution, trypsin/EDTA, and trypsin neutralizing solution). |
Storage
Cells are cryopreserved immediately after purification and delivered on dry ice. Place cryovials immediately in liquid nitrogen upon arrival. Store the growth medium at 4°C in the dark. Store the subculture reagent at -20°C upon receipt and at 4°C upon thawing.
