PrimaPure Rat Mesenchymal Stem Cells ( RMSC) are isolated from adult or fetal bone marrow. They are cryopreserved at second passage and can be cultured and propagated for 10 population doublings.
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) have the ability to self-renew and differentiate into cells of various connective tissue lineages, such as bone, cartilage, fat, and neurons. The potential of MSCs to maintain multipotency and proliferate extensively in vitro provides new avenues for cell-based therapy in the restoration of damaged or diseased tissue.
Each lot of PrimaPure MSC¿s is tested for its ability to attach and spread on standard tissue culture grade plastic surfaces and proliferate in Mesenchymal Stem Cell Growth Medium. Additionally, each lot is characterized for bone mineralization and lipid accumulation following differentiation using osteoblast and adipocyte differentiation media, repectively.
