The ß-Galactosidase Assay Kits quantitatively measure the expression level of ß-galactosidase in cells transfected with vectors carrying the lacZ gene. Two ß-Galactosidase Assay Kits are available: the highly sensitive Enhanced ß-Galactosidase Assay Kit (CPRG) Assay Kit, which uses the red substrate chlorophenol red-ß-D-galactopyranoside (CPRG) to determine ß-gal expression levels, and the ß-Galactosidase Assay Kit (ONPG) Assay Kit, which measures development of the bright yellow substrate o-nitrophenyl-ß-D-galactopyranoside (ONPG). The ONPG kit provides a quick and sensitive method for quantifying ß-galactosidase expression in cultured cells or tissues, while the CPRG kit is ideal for conditions in which β-galactosidse expression levels are low.

The ß-Galactosidase Assay Kits provide all the required reagents for 500 microassays in a 96-well plate and can be easily adapted for different assay sizes.

Shipping and Storage
Both ß-Galactosidase Assay Kits are shipped frozen.
The CPRG substrate solutions and ß-galactosidase enzyme standard should be stored at -20ºC.
All other components should be stored at 4ºC.
Stable for 6 months when stored properly.
